There has been a little change around here folks, but the dust is starting to settle so why don't I try and fill you in a little. First there is some bad news. The html-based chat rooms that were previously housed here became victims of their own popularity. Their doors are closed and locked forever. With the volume of people that were using them there came a certain percentage of vandals and trouble makers. Bottom line is that eventually the negatives outweighed the positives.
That's the bad news, now the good news. The chat room is still alive and well, we just do things a little differently around here now. Below, chose the link that applies to you (hint: use the high-res room first, if the chat window does not fit on your screen, then go back and try the other.) You will need to have a browser that supports java, this means Navigator 3.0, MS Internet Explorer 3.0 or better.
This room takes a little while to load .. so you will need to be patient. If your browser is not java-enabled you can still try downloading mIRC (PC) or Ircle (Mac). The server should be set to irc.webmaster.com and the channel/room should be #outerbanks.
After you chat awhile check out the Outer Banks Bulletin Board . You can leave a message for others to respond to, or respond to the messages left by others.
